Nature connects us to the world and enables us to become more grounded. The way children play and explore the world can always remind us as to how we need to register and process our world as adults, instead of being entrenched in our own busy minds and to-do lists. Nature fulfils every single sensory system in a regulating way. It is the way nature stimulates our senses, which makes us feel content and more grounded. The name Sensoryscape has its origins in all the landscapes we travel through in life. The very foundations of our functioning and processing of these landscapes are our sensory systems.
Sensoryscape is a paediatric therapy centre, consisting of a multi-disciplinary team (occupational therapists, speech therapists and physiotherapist).
We journey with parents to support or facilitate their child to reach their full potential. Over the years, we have journeyed with many families and children. We have travelled with children from birth to adolescents, with a wide range of diagnoses - ranging from developmental delay, sensory processing disorder, dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome or many other developmental, neurological or syndromic disorders.
Some journeys are short and others are long, but each and every one is special and unique, and it’s a privilege to witness the growth and development of every child that comes to Sensoryscape.
“Life is a journey that have a lot of different paths” – Author unknown
”To get through the hardest journey, we need to only take one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping.” – Chinese Proverbs
